The Becker Township Joint Planning Board is a board of final action for all zoning related items. Things like Conditional Use Permits, Variances, Interim Use Permits, etc., will travel first through the Town Planning Commission for a public hearing and then to the Joint Planning Board for final action.
Joint Planning considers the recommendations made by the Planning Commission prior to taking final action. JPB meetings are open to the public, but are not the location for the public to make comments. Public comment is taken at Planning Commission meetings. Applicants are encouraged to attend to answer any further questions the JPB may have regarding their application.
The JPB also sits as the zoning board of adjustment to hear appeals of decisions rendered by zoning administrator.
